Garden too small for a proper Easter egg hunt?  See if your local public garden might be hosting an event. Public gardens have room enough for kids to romp, and they do all the organizing. How nice is that?

This mad chase was photographed last year at Descanso Gardens in La Canada, California.  Descanso's egg hunt this year is on Saturday, March 22 (get their calendar).  There will be eight hunts ($4 per child), each lasting 45 minutes, the earliest starting at 9:30 a.m.  Reservations times are taken on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning at 9 a.m. the day of the event. Slots fill up quickly, so it's best to show up early.
