No one has ever accused me of being extravagant, but buying this exquisite little urn came close.  I got it at Inner Gardens, and I don't remember the exact cost but it was triple figures.  Around $200, I think.

Doesn't sound like a fortune now, but this was 2001.  And I took a few gulps before I laid down the plastic.

But I have been grateful I took the plunge every day since.  My back block wall desparately needed a focal point, and this antique urn fills the role perfectly. Just the right size.  Just the right shape.

And look at that patina.  You can't manufacture that kind of gorgeous weathering.  Like wrinkles, it has to be earned.

Sometimes it pays to be extravagant.

I think it was worth it, Sharon. The combination of colors and textures of all the elements are simple but elegant, and definitely gorgeous.

That's the nicest looking block wall I;ve ever seen. Great color and the urn is a wonderful focal point.
