Jim McCausland's blog post on the Fronderosa Frolic a few days ago reminded me Southern California has some pretty good fern shows of its own.  One is coming up this weekend.  The San Diego Fern Society Show and Sale will be held in Room 104 in Casa del Prado in Balboa Park as usual.  Hours are noon to 4 on Saturday, Aug. 16; and 10 to 4 on Sunday, Aug. 17.  It's free.
