Just learned that Brian Sullivan, the manager of horticulture and display gardening at Descanso Gardens in La Canada, California just won a prestigous Chanticleer Scholarship -- one of four winners nationwide.  Scholars will spend time at Chanticleer, the famous 35-acre garden near Philadelphia, visit other public gardens, and meet industry leaders.  The Scholarship is designed to "encourage creativity", which Sullivan seems to have in abundance already, but that's probably one of the reasons he was chosen. He'll make the most of the opportunity.  Way to go, Brian!!

Congratulations to you Brian! He's local to me and I appreciate his work.
