Women and men react to 'Pretty Much Picasso', the new petunia from Proven Winners seen below, photographed at their recent new-plant trials, quite differently.  "It catches women's eyes immediately," says Danielle Ernest, brand development coordinator for Proven Winners, "and they're intrigued by it."  Men, on the other hand, she says, are generally more dubious.  "They look at it and scratch their heads, trying to decide what to make of it."

Jim McCausland and I are pretty typical of our respective genders apparently.   The lime green edges on this petunia pulled me over for a closer look as soon as I spotted the plant.  And, once there, I admit I was rather charmed, even though I'm generally not a big petunia fan.  Jim, on the other hand, is still not won over.  "Weird," remains his opinion.

We're curious to see if this division of opinion by sex holds.  What's your take on this new petunia?

I'm female and I'm voting with Jim on this one. I suspect the petunia is from Picasso's little-known Weird Period.

I don't care for it, although it is unusual and might get a second look.

I'm voting with the men on this one.

I saw it at Consumer Day at Four Star Greenhouse last Saturday and it was stunning. Picture does not do it justice. Put magenta colored verbena in the mix and it's a spectacular combination.
